Last night was a really good night. I was invited to my coworkers apartment for a little going away party for Brian but first me, Mackenzie, and Julz had to go to Brew Brothers because Mackenzie had to work. Thursday night is flip cup and Mackenzie is a Bud Light girl and has to work it. It was super fun drinking for free and playing the game. At one point there was 12 people on each side and this girl and I were at the very end and it came down to us at the same exact time. We neck to neck and I flipped my cup over first and won the game for our side! I was so excited hahaa after 2 hours of that Mackenzie was off so we started leaving down town and we’re going down the free to south Reno when I looked to my left and was like “is that a fire?!!!” We look over and we were so shocked and terrified at the sight we were seeing. The hill was bright red and the smoke above it was glowing bright orange. It was so scary looking. We instantly knew what area it was in, Caughlin Ranch, which is in the hills above Reno and has really expensive nice houses. We tried to take pictures with our phones but they weren’t coming out good at all. We decided after the house party that we would drive up to the fire. So we get to the aparmtent at 1 am and 7 of my coworkers were there. Pretty much all of my coworkers are between the age of 21 and 30 so I was really excited to finally hangout with them because I get along with them so well. They were super happy to see me and drank and what not for awhile. We left and started driving towards the fire pretty much freaking out because it was so damn close. The electricity was out in the area and it was eerie seeing the neighborhood so black. We were right next to the fire and the hills were covered in flames. The wind was so bad too cause there’s a storm coming in, 70 mph winds! The road was blocked off so we turned around and went another route at Skyline. We parked at Skyline and Mccarren and were RIGHT across the street from the fire. I found this picture today on rgj.com and about 20 houses have burned down. It’s so sad and my heart goes out to the people in Caughlin Ranch.

The big Reno fire from last weekend. Seeing this image at 1 in the morning was so scary. It was pitch black and the sky above the fire was glowing red
